Our cultivations
A
variety of plants are cultivated directly by Dana S.A. in their
own ground (100 hectares of heart are owned by the company), while
others are obtained from local producers or imported from neighbor
countries, mainly Nigeria and Ghana.
Our cultivations are biologically pure, i.e. rigorously without
utilization of pesticides or any other chemical products. The
external cultivations are periodically visited by our
agriculturalists to guarantee the same standard of quality adopted
by Dana S.A.
The country
The
Republic of Togo is in West Africa, within Ghana, Benin, Burkina
Faso and the Atlantic Ocean. With a littoral of about 50 Km, the
Togolese area is of 57.000 Km2.
Populated by about 4 millions of people mainly young (more than
50% of its population has less than 15 years) the country has a
climate essentially tropical, with the influence of monsoons and
harmattan.
It is essentially an agricultural country, where the sector gives
job to about 75% of the active population. The principals
agricultural products exported: cotton, coffee and cacao,
represents, together with the phosphates, the bulk of the export.
The infrastructures
Lung of the national economy, the port of Lomé owns a container's
terminal of 11.000 m2, a mineral's quay of 210 meters. and a dock
for tankers able to welcome ships up to 250 meters.
The international airport is modern and can treats 700.000
passengers at year, with its every time take off capability
technical installation.
Whit a modern telecommunication network endowed of a terrestrial
station of class A, a center for international transits, a central
of 20.000 lines, a transmission system by optical fibers, Lomé has
one of the most modern telecommunication's infrastructure of the
African continent.
